True Vintage stocks a large variety of clothing brands each with its own unique sizing guide.  The fit of garments will vary depending on the cut, style and fabric used.

To help you with your shopping experience and give you the upmost confidence in your purchases we have provided measurements for all our items.

Below is a guide to how we measure all our items:

Firstly, we take a pit to pit measurement by laying the garment flat, face up and measuring the cloth from its widest point from under the armpit to the other armpit.

Pit to Pit

Then we take the length measurement by laying the item flat on the ground with the back of the shirt facing up. The measurement is taken from the seam where the collar band attaches to the yoke (the fabric that sits across the shoulders) straight down to the hem of the item at its longest point.

Length

The listing should look like this:

Size: L

Measurements:

Pit to pit - 25.5"
Length on back - 27.5"

To ensure your purchase fits perfectly we recommend measuring a piece of clothing that fits well and using this as a guide.

Staff Picks - Festival Shirts

So, summer is now in full flow here in the UK and we’re revelling in the opportunity to bust out some of our favourite festival shirts at TV/ Festival Rags HQ. Over the past few month’s we’ve been busy sourcing some of the hardest, waviest and lairiest pieces. It’s safe to say our stockpile is now looking pretty impressive.

Whether it’s 90’s fresh prince-esque prints, unique Hawaiian numbers or fire-breathing oriental dragons - we’ve got you covered. Guaranteed to let people know you mean business at festivals but at the same time guaranteed to get you refused entry to your local nightclub.

To show you what we have to offer and showcase some of our favourite items, we’ve put together some staff picks!

Ben & Mark

For the record, Ben and Mark were completely unaware this shot was being taken. They were caught admiring one of our shirt rails off camera.

Ben’s pick is one of our many 90’s pieces – a completely unique all over print. A notorious admirer of strange headwear, Ben has teamed this up with a wicker boater hat from his personal collection. The half frame tortoise shell sunglasses, however, can be purchased from our website for £8.

Mark has gone for the all-out peacock effect in his purple Hawaiian ‘bad-boy’ (as he calls it). A relaxed fit, many of our Hawaiians are manufactured without a top button and therefore perfect exposing your chest hair if you’re that way inclined – although that is also missing in this instance. Mark has teamed his shirt with a pair of circular frame sunglasses that are also available on our website for £8. Shout out John Lennon. R.I.P.

Rory & Guy

Head honcho Rory is ahead of trend sporting one of our new oriental style shirts. We’re really loving these style shirts at the minute and this is a fine example. With some pretty sick designs to choose from, Rory will definitely be packing this in his festival luggage over the course of the next couple of months. Catch him near the front left speaker.

Next up is Guy in another one of our Hawaiian’s. With palm trees, sailing boats and sandy beaches – this is a classic summer number, although we would not advise rocking this in November unless you're actually in Hawaii. If you have a good name for Guy’s model pose, please feel free to let us know in the comments. We just can't put our finger on it.

Bruno & Jack

Our final Hawaiian pick, Bruno loved this shirt that much that it was also his Glasto shirt of choice. Unfortunately, the shirt didn’t withstand that test and has since gone missing (along with his phone and several other personal belongings). It’s a good job we have some more for him to pick from when his soul returns from Somerset.

Jack is a self-proclaimed ‘fiend’ for 90’s style vintage items and this shirt was right up his alleyway. The purple and turquoise pastel colourway is typical of many of the 90’s prints we have and reminds us all of that golden decade when we didn’t have a care in the world.
